Basalt Stone Bonsai or Succulent Vessel

$385.00

Free shipping within the lower 48 states.

This hand carved Basalt planter will complement your tree and bring a truly natural feel to any bonsai display.

Features:

⭐️ 1 inch drain hole and 4 tie down holes.

⭐️ Measurements: Approximately 12x12x6

⭐️ Bottom is also carved and recessed for air flow and hiding tie-down wires.

The basalt I collect (private property) and use to make these stone planters are from a post-caldera lava flow on the edge of the Newberry Volcano Monument on the east side of the Cascades in Central Oregon. These pieces of basalt are estimated to be 75,000 – 12,000 years old. Older than any tree on earth.

I’ve created many faux basalt bonsai pots in my ceramic studio. For a while now, I’ve been developing methods to carve out and work with the real thing.
